Dance Classes
Providing everything your dancer needs to thrive.
Ballet
Ballet is offered to kindergarten - 12th grade. Ballet is the basis of all dance. Ballet classes focus on a dancer's technique as well as strength while performing skills of various levels of difficulty. Dancers will learn proper turn out, how to pointe their toes, along with more advance skills as they progress. Your dancer's instructor will evaluate when your dancer is ready to dance en pointe. Pointe takes place during the ballet class.
Tap
Tap is available to grades K-12. Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique and producing clear tap sounds. Classes will focus on a higher level of difficulty with steps as well as working on coordination and speed of movement as dancers advance in their skill set.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is available to grades 2nd through 12th grade. Hip Hop is a powerful and sassy style of dance that allows a dancer to be very precise with their movements. Dancers will be challenged with various types of musicality and intensities, while also learning how to dance together as a group.
Jazz
Jazz is available to grades 1-12. Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Classes begin with a warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment, coordination and body isolations. Focus is on technique of the basic turns, leaps and jumps. As dancers advance their class will consist of strength, flexibility, and conditioning technique. This will include advanced turns, kicks, and leaps. Dancers will learn various styles of dance including: Classical Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop.Â
Contemporary
Contemporary is available to all 5th grade to 12th grade students. Student must be enrolled in jazz and ballet to register for contemporary. Contemporary is a unique style of dance that allows for a lot of freedom within a dancer's movement. It is a very powerful style of dance that focuses on aspects of ballet, jazz and lyrical to form a unique type of movement. Dancers will be challenged with various types of turns, and jumps, as well as partner work.
Musical Theater
Musical Theater dance incorporates elements of jazz, and ballet to create dynamic routines that tell a story or express a character. This style is typically performed to music from Broadway shows and emphasizes theatricality and performance skills. Musical Theater is offered to dancers grades 2nd through 12th.
Tumbling
Tumbling is focused on acrobatic skills, strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Tumbling does not perform in recital and is offered to dancers grades Kindergarten through 12th.
Preschool
